How the two classes differ
F1A/M is the Polish school class based on simplified technical requirements. F1H is the FAI Junior Glider class - bigger models and better performance, but a higher cost and a more demanding workshop.
Both are tow-launched free flight gliders, but F1H requires a fitter tow runner, better weather conditions and a larger launch area.
When to pick F1A/M
F1A/M works well in school workshops, club sections for children and youth, and for hobbyists entering on a tight budget. A model can be built for 35 to 130 EUR equivalent from a ready Jaskolka-type kit.
If you run classes for children, this is the natural choice. The low entry barrier brings quick early wins.
When to pick F1H
F1H is the FAI junior class. If you aim for the Poland Cup or Junior World Championships, this is your class. A model costs roughly 140 to 700 EUR depending on quality.
F1H demands regular training, a competent club tow runner and a good grasp of trimming. It is the first step toward senior F1A.
What to pick
If in doubt, start with F1A/M. After a season and a few competitions you will naturally move to F1H. The F1A/M investment is not wasted - models of this class remain useful as trainers later.
